The club is awarded by a special prize of Olympic committee of Russia "Fair game" (1997, for the highest degree of nobleness in wrestling, mutual aid and respect). Also, Salavat Yulaev Hockey Club is awarded by the Diploma of Federation of Hockey of Russia (December 1996).
For the first time the ice-hockey team from Ufa was named in 1955 under the name Energy. Since 1961, the hockey club is known as Salavat Yulaev. In the summer of 1961 the club is included in structure of participants of superiority of the USSR Championship as a class B.
In 1964 - 1992 Salavat Yulaev acted in a class A of the Soviet hockey, in 1992 - 1996 entered in МHL, in 1996 - 1999 - in RHL, since 1999 - in PHL.
In 1989 the Hockey Club Salavat Yulaev includes: a masters’ club of the Superleague, farm-club Salavat Yulaev (the first league), a youthful school of an Olympic Reserve, sports Palace (with two hockey rinks with artificial ice), Universal Sports Arena Ufa-arena.
